Documenting Joy and Resilience

Since 2023, I've been photographing Happy 50 Plus Foundation's mental health awareness events for Chinese and Chinese American seniors. As a Mandarin-speaking photographer, I get to build a real relationship with the community—seeing familiar faces year after year, understanding the nuances of each event, connecting with attendees in their language. That comfort translates into the images: genuine smiles, real moments, people at ease being themselves.

The photos have been used across Happy 50 Plus's social media and website to spread awareness and reach more of the community they serve.
